Today at Walmart I ran into four racks of $1.00 clothing. They do this from time-to-time. Just the night before I had checked my list of "Special Days" to see which birthday's were coming up. I was able to get one niece 5 clothing items and another 3 items.
It really saves to keep in mind birthdays/events that are coming up in the next few months so you can try to get gifts on sale. Here's a link to a post I did on having a gift stash.

I totally have a gift stash like that. although my kids tend to loot it before any of the birthdays of friends/cousins roll around.
shower cap? genius. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm on day FIVE of gross hair. Baseball cap? check. I'm a bath taker if it's not hair washing day (which I really should pencil in more often)...but now I'm thinking about getting a shower cap.
silky pillowcases also are better on your skin, I've heard. my grandma swore that hers kept wrinkles at bay. gotta get me one of those.
